“Reinhold Miller (1898-1983), was the son of Otto and Wilemena Miller, and was raised on the 14th Concession [Hay]. In 1922, he married Emilie Miller (1899-1994), daughter of Simon and Elizabeth Miller, also of Concession 14 [Hay]. The couple purchased 75 acres of land at Pt. Lot 6, Con. 13 [Hay] that year, and farmed there for the next 47 years. The Millers raised a family of three children: Martha (1924) married Colin Hindley; Lorna (1926) married Harold Main; Hubert (1928) married Vesta Ford in 1952. Reinhold and Emilie were active members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Dashwood where Reinhold served as Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years. He also dedicated many years of service to the Hay Township Farmer’s Mutual Fire Insurance Company. In 1969, Reinhold and Emilie sold their farm to Earl Becker and retired to Dashwood.”
