(below) Peter McIsaac seated in his buggy on April 19, 1912, on the southeast corner of Dashwood Road and Centre Street (Bronson Line), the view is generally toward the NNE. The structure immediately behind the horse’s head is the front northwest corner of the former Dashwood Hotel building, displaying a doorway which formerly existed there. Visual evidence of that doorway can still be seen in the brickwork immediately below the window now occupying its place. (See image at bottom) Across the street, on the northeast corner of the intersection is a building under construction. The structure now occupying that location is referred to as the old post office building. In the distance, on the left of this image above the partially constructed building; to the right of an industrial looking chimney pipe, is what appears to be the top of the steeple of the recently constructed (1908) Zion Lutheran Church. Also visible in the top centre of this image is the roof and west facing eave window of a barn-like structure,(see image at bottom) which may still still exist. (click on image for larger version)
